Keiki Hula & Culture Classes Begin in July

Starting July 8th, Keiki Hula & Culture Classes will be held at the Masonic Building in Yagibaru. Students will learn hula, Hawaiian language and culture, and Tahitian as well.


Additionally, there is one more Tahitian workshop this Thursday, June 28th from 4:30opm-7:30pm and a Hula workshop on July 15th from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Pareu (sarong) is recommended for the Tahitian workshop, and a pa'u (hula skirt) is recommended for the hula workshop. Advanced hula dancers may wish to bring an ipu for 'auana. Please see flyer below for more details.

Masonic Building is located near Rose Garden and A&W on 330. Room 204. Simply follow the signs to the upstairs.

TUE 6/19, WED 20, THU 21 (3 day workshop)
(Participants attend all three days at designated time)
4:00pm ~ 4:45pm Keiki Hula & Tahitian (ages 4-6), Y2000
Basics, That's the Hawaiian in Me, He Mele No Lilo, Te Manu Pukarua

5:00pm ~ 6:00pm Hula and Tahitian (ages 7-12), Y3000
Basics, That's the Hawaiian in Me, He Mele No Lilo, Te Manu Pukarua

6:00pm ~ 7:00pm Hula and Tahitian (ages 13-18), Y3000
Basics,...

6/28 (3hrs)
4:30pm ~ 7:30pm Tahitian (ages 18+), Y4000
Basics, E Toro E Toru, Toriri E (?), Kaula'ili (?)...


Materials needed:
-pa'u skirt and/or pareau (sarong)
-notebook
-water bottle and towel

No video please (you can video yourself, not the instructor)
Pictures ok
Child care not provided
There is a max occupancy for the room
Workshops will start and end on time. Please be ready to enter and exit. Mahalo.

First Tahitian workout...I mean Workshop! :D

O....M...G!!  Our legs are going to be hurting for DAYS!!!


MAHALO NUI to da ladies who pushed me through the workout/workshop tonight ^_^!  I cannot believe you guys wouldn't let me take break l'dat! hehe!  It was awesome!  You should be receiving the songs via email soon. If not, please message me through here and I will make sure to get you a CD copy instead.


Looking forward to the next session...a week away thank goodness! Just enough time for the legs to recoup and den get blasted once again. "Aue, Aue" ...or Aunty Cindy's version, "Oweee! Oweeee!"
